Quick Thoughts: Why do I like this series? No clue.

Barbarian Alien is book 2 of the Ice Planet Barbarian series and since the last one entertained me and I was in the mood for something a bit lighter than my normal fare, I picked it up for my Kindle and dove back into the world of Not-Hoth and the ladies who are stranded there with blue avatars who are in desperate need for women.

This book focuses on one of the women named Liz. She is one of the women who has been stranded on this world, who was then rescued by the natives thanks to Georgie’s actions in the first book. Liz is a sarcastic, opinionated, and strong character that after receiving her “khui” in order to survive the habitat, it “resonates” with the grumpiest of all the warriors, a sa-khui named Raahosh. Let’s just say…she was less than pleased.

“I’m kidnapped by aliens, forced to eke out a living on an ice planet, and now I’m basically married to Mr. Tall, Dark, and Super Pissy.”

She tries to fight the bond between the two of them, not wanting to be with him due to his overbearing-alpha-male ways but her khui proved to be most insistent, and what we get is two-hundred pages of super entertaining alien smut.

I think I am addicted to this series now. I have no idea why I like it so much besides the fact that it is vastly different than the regular genres I read. It us written pretty well, the story is fast-paced, and the pairings are interesting to read about. Throw in the fact that this H was also a virgin…and this author found my secret weakness. I love a good virgin hero. There are not enough of them in romantic fiction. It’s a nice switch-up and though this book was a bit cornier than the first, it still was pretty solid. If you read the first one and liked it, the second one won’t disappoint.
